How it works
Exactly what membership feels like.
A day-in-the-life of an LES family — and the better-together model that makes it all work.
A day in the life
One Signature Saturday, start to finish
Arrive together
You and your kids check in at the welcome table. A host knows your name and your kid's name.
Meet the helper
Captain Diaz gathers the kids. Phones go in pockets. The questions start flying.
Hands-on learning
Kids try the hose, climb aboard the engine, and learn fire safety by doing — with you right beside them.
Make a friend
Snacks, play, and the seven other families you'll see again in two weeks. Parents meet parents.
Thank a helper
Kids hand Captain Diaz the thank-you cards they made. A small lesson in gratitude, every time.
Behind the scenes
How adventures get planned
We curate; we don't crowdsource. Here's what we handle so you don't have to.
Host vetting
Every paid host is background-checked. Civic partners are personally vetted by the founder.
Venue & partner selection
We choose the venue, the host, and the time. You just arrive — fewer, better adventures.
A named learning objective
Every adventure has an explicit thing your kid will learn, published in the calendar 30 days out.
Weather backup
Every outdoor adventure has a backup plan and a clear weather-call cutoff posted the morning of.
The no-drop-off model, explained.
A caregiver from your household stays with your child at every adventure. It's not a footnote — it's the design. It's how kids really learn, how friendships form, and how you meet the other parents who want the same things for their kids.
At signup, every family acknowledges:
"I understand Little Explorers Society is a together-membership, and that a caregiver from my household will stay with my child at every adventure."
Good questions
The things families ask first
Why don't you allow drop-off?+
Because better-together is the whole point. Kids learn more, friendships form faster, and parents meet parents when caregivers stay. We're not a babysitting service — the relationship is family-to-family.
What if it rains?+
Every adventure has a weather backup, and we post the weather call by 7 AM that morning. Some adventures move indoors; others move to the following Saturday.
What if we miss an adventure?+
No problem — RSVP honestly and cancel early if plans change so another family can take the spot. There's always another Saturday.
Can grandparents or guests come?+
Yes. Extra adult tickets are available for festivals, and members can host visiting family with a day-pass once a year. A caregiver from your household is still required.
Do you offer gift memberships?+
We do — 3, 6, or 12-month prepaid gift memberships. The recipient activates and signs the Member Expectations acknowledgement.
